Planned Maintenance
There will be a scheduled overnight deployment to SiteNow v2/v3 websites. Website visitors may encounter a degraded experience during the deployment window with the possibility of temporarily unavailable pages.
Elements of Success, a learning analytics dashboard available in select ICON courses, will have work applied during the maintenance window but should be online for end-users to access during this time. Students and faculty enrolled in courses that have activated Elements of Success might experience a slow response at times or the system might be unresponsive for brief periods of time.
There will be maintenance on the data center proxy servers and client connections may notice brief interruptions when traffic is diverted.
ITS will be performing network maintenance on the Cisco AnyConnect VPN service. GlobalProtect VPN will remain available.
ITS will be migrating buildings to new campus networking infrastructure during the 60 minute window. Actual outage is expected to be under 15 minutes.
The shared SQL Server test systems IOWASQLTEST1, IOWASQLTEST2, and IOWASQLTEST3 will be upgraded from SQL Server 2014 to SQL Server 2019. The new SQL Server 2019 systems will have network connectivity restricted to ITS data centers and, on request, static IP addresses on wired campus building machines. These SQL Server databases will no longer be open to campus wireless or VPN.
For more information about this migration, please review SQL Server 2014 Shared Hosting Refresh FAQs or contact the SQL Server DBA team at ITS-SQL-Help@uiowa.edu
