Plagiarism Detection Services

Description

Turnitin.com is a plagiarism detection service licensed by The University of Iowa. Instructors who register for an account with this service give their students a course-specific login and password they can use to submit papers directly to Turnitin in Microsoft Word or other common file formats. Instructors then receive an "originality report" showing possible matches between their students’ submissions and papers in Turnitin's database of previous submissions, commercial databases of journal articles and periodicals, and other internet resources. A side-by-side comparison also allows instructors to check for proper citation. Instructors interested in using this free service should send email to turnitin@iowa.edu.
