Description

It enables software applications and software updates to be deployed from a single console and in an efficient, cost-effective manner. SCCM also incorporates a very granular reporting component that allows administrators to seek out machines with very specific characteristics, create a grouping of those machines (called a "collection") and deploy certain software applications or updates (called "packages") to those collections - all from one console. In addition to this core functionality, there are several other features that SMS provides, including Software Updates, Operating System Deployment, Software Metering and Asset Intelligence.
