How We Work

Click a heading for more information on that topic.

Step 1: Getting in Touch

Send us an e-mail at SITA@uiowa.edu to contact a SITA anytime. You can also walk in at our office (2800 UCC) anytime 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Step 2: The Initial Consultation

If you're interested in starting a project, we will set up an initial consultation with you to chat with you about your teaching and technology goals. At this meeting, we will begin working on a plan to help you achieve your goal. This is an important step in our process, and you can find out what to expect on this page.

Step 3: The Project Plan

Based on the initial consultation and perhaps some follow-up information gathering, we will create a specific plan for your project. Formally written up as a memorandum of understanding, the plan is a your guide to what services SITA will provide and when. The plan will also raise the issue of how the project will be assessed when complete.

Step 4: Let's go!

In the "implementation" phase, we work with you to execute our plan. Training sessions, production work, and other activities all take place during this time as appropriat e.

Step 5: Pause to Assess

Perhaps using surveys or other techniques, we will pause to assess with you what went well on your project. The information we gather will feed back into creating successful projects in the future.
