The homepage of a SiteNow Standard website is a special landing page with the content divided into panes which can be rearranged on the page. The homepage does not include the Edit tab which is common on other pages of the website.

Note: Only users with the webmaster role may edit the homepage.

To add a pane to the homepage

  1. Log in to your website and navigate to the homepage.
  2. Click the 'Customize this page' button at the bottom on the page.

  3. Click the "+"  button in the light blue area marked 'Content.' Once the pane is placed you can drag it around for better placement.

  4. At the left of the resulting window, select a tab (eg, Articles) to see the panes which are available for that category. Click on the title of the pane you wish to add or click the 'New custom content' link to add a single-use pane with custom text via a text area. If you have a previously created, reusable custom content pane, you may find this under 'Miscellaneous' or under the arbitrary category that you may have included (this is an optional step on the custom content pane's creation page).

  5. If the pane selected in step 4 has configuration options, configure the pane as desired and then click the 'Finish' button at the bottom of configuration area.

  6. Click the 'Save' button at the bottom of the homepage.

To edit a pane on the homepage

  1. Log in to your website and navigate to the homepage.
  2. Click the 'Customize this page' button at the bottom of the page.

  3. Click the gears (edit) button in the top left of the pane you wish to edit.

  4. In the resulting window, make your changes and then click 'Finish' at the bottom.

  5. Click the 'Save' button at the bottom of the homepage.

To remove a pane from the homepage

  1. Log in to your website and navigate to the homepage.
  2. Click the 'Customize this page' button at the bottom of the page.

  3. Click the trash can symbol (the delete button) in the top left of the pane you wish to remove and confirm that you want to remove the pane.

  4. Click the 'Save' button at the bottom of the homepage.

Configuring content to show on the homepage

Depending on the configuration of a pane on the homepage, it may be necessary to mark content as "promoted to the front page" for the content to show up on the homepage.

1. If you have not yet created the content you wish to promote, click 'Add content' and select the type of content you would like to create. If you have already created the content you want to promote, find it on your site and click 'Edit.'

2. You should be directed to the editing screen. Scroll down to the bottom and select 'Publishing Options.'

3. To the right, select the 'Promoted to Front Page' checkbox.

4. Click 'Save' at the bottom.'

Your content should now be visible on the homepage of your site.
