All current University of Iowa students, faculty, and staff are able to use the ITCs (computer labs) and UI Wireless (eduroam) using their HawkID and password for authentication.
If you are not a current UI student, faculty, or staff member, you can request a guest account for temporary (up to 3 days) limited access to specific computers on campus (see below) and the UI Wireless network.

Note: Guest account requests cannot be made by email or telephone, as proper identification must be presented in person.
- A drivers license or passport number
- A current email address or telephone number is required
Where can I use a Guest Account
Guest accounts can be used for UI Wireless (eduroam) everywhere it is available as well as on computers in the following locations on campus:
- First Floor corridor of Main Library
- Art/Music Library - 235 LIB
- Map Reading Room - 3111 LIB
- Hardin Library- 207 and 214 HLHS
- Special Collections Reading Room – 3060 LIB
Access to other computer labs on campus must be requested at the time the account is created.
Note: Access to the ITC on the second floor of the Main Library is restricted from guest account use.
Requesting a Guest Account for an Official Visitor
Current University of Iowa faculty and staff may request a guest account on behalf of official visitors by contacting the ITS Help Desk directly at 4-4357 or firstname.lastname@example.org and providing the name and contact information of the official visitor and the sponsoring faculty/staff member's name and contact information.
All guest account users are subject to the Guest ID Acceptable Use Policy.
