The Student Response System User Conference

Co-Hosted by the UI ITS - Instructional Services Department and the Center for Teaching

ITS-Instructional Services and the Center for Teaching is excited to offer this learning and networking opportunity to you. ITS has recently announced its campus standard new service Turning Technologies “Student Response Systems” to UI faculty and staff. This conference boast some of the most diverse sessions and discussions. Click here for a complete list of speakers and presentation abstracts.

Please look at the conference as your personal learning opportunity into the world of clickers. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, speak with your peers and utilize members of teams from ITS-Instructional Services, Center for Teaching, Turning Technologies, and other representatives of the ITS department. As an attendee of the Clicker User Conference, you will have multiple opportunities to further your knowledge of our new ITS Service, clickers.

Whether a beginner or advanced user, we have sessions to cover all your needs and interest. Learn basic product functionality, best practices, future products as well as innovative uses of the Student Response Systems – TurningPoint and TurningPoint AnyWhere.

- Liz Pearce, IDT Manager in ITS and adjunct faculty for Communication Studies

An assistant director at the Vanderbilt University Center for Teaching and senior lecturer in mathematics at Vanderbilt, Derek Bruff consults regularly with instructors in a variety of disciplines at Vanderbilt and elsewhere about educational technology and other teaching and learning topics. Bruff's research interests center on investigating effective uses of "classroom response systems". His book on the topic, Teaching with Classroom Response Systems: Creating Active Learning Environments, was published by Jossey-Bass in February 2009. Prior to his current position, Bruff taught in the mathematics department at Harvard University.
