Returning Clickers and Buyback

Can I return a clicker?

If you end up dropping a class that you purchased a clicker for, you can return the clicker to the Bookstore or Iowa Book.

Can I sell back a clicker at the end of the term?

You can. If you are a freshman or sophomore, you may want to hang on to it, in case you use it in future classes.

The University of Iowa Bookstore - Return

Clicker returns would be same as textbooks. Receipt is required, and return must be made within time limits. Dates are set for each semester - posted on the UI Bookstore website and at point of sale.

The University of Iowa Bookstore - Buy Back

Buy back would be 50% of retail - quantities bought would be dependent upon future course adoptions and existing inventory.

Iowa Book - Return

Students can return undamaged clickers for a full refund the first three weeks of the semester.  For the fall semester, the last day to return will be Sept. 14th.  You must have your receipt.  This deadline is extended two more weeks to Sept. 28th with a receipt and drop slip. It may be determined that a clicker is no longer in new condition and the student would get the used value.  In that case, $28.00.

Iowa Book - Buy Back

Assuming that the clickers are reordered for the spring semester, they will buy them back for half the new price minus the cost of replacing the batteries. If the price remains the same, the student would get $18.00.

Will I be able to trade in my clicker in the event of a new model coming out?

Yes, you will. When the next model comes out, you will be able to trade it in at the University Bookstore for a small fee. You will also be able to trade it in through Turning Technologies.
