ITS-Telecommunication & Network Services

The mission of Telecommunication & Network Services (TNS) is to advance collaboration, knowledge, learning, and research by providing a reliable communications infrastructure and delivering effective communication services.

TNS provides the following services and infrastrucure support to the University:

Service Description
Automated Call Distribution (ACD) Designed for advanced call routing, typically used for main departmental incoming lines, or in call centers. Distributes calls in a pre-programmed manner to multiple stations, enables caller queues, and provides real-time and historical call data.
Cable TV Campus cable TV distribution
Campus Data Network Connectivity ITS provides the Ethernet data networks (e.g. ClassNet, ITCnet, Voicenet) that connect the campus community. We also provide Internet, Internet2 and peer to peer connections with private and public orangizations.
Campus Wireless Network Service Wireless data networking on the UI campus
Telephone Service Voice, fax, modem, virtual, and ISDN lines, desktop telephones and wall telephones for campus phone services. 
TNSConnect Billing and Reporting for ITS Service
Voice Mail Includes voice mail for individual campus users, departmental voice mail, and customized “trees” that provide menu-driven options.
