Understanding the factors underlying a student's decision to persist or withdraw/fail from a challenging course is critical for increasing student academic success. Elements of Success (EoS) is a feedback platform that supports student academic resilience, and the Research & Assessment (R&A) team in the Office of Teaching, Learning & Technology has examined the relationship between student data, EoS use, and academic performance.

In this presentation, R&A will share feedback from students who have used EoS as well as the implications of how data and learning analytics might be best implemented to encourage students to persist/succeed.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa–sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Center for Teaching in advance at 3193356048 or teaching@uiowa.edu.
