4CAST’19 will address the practical impact of big data, machine learning and AI on teaching in higher education, and discuss the benefits and risks of a future shaped by algorithms. 

 

To kick off the event, Sudha Ram, professor of MIS, entrepreneurship & innovation at the University of Arizona will present the keynote address. Following the keynote, participants will engage in round-table discussions, break for a catered lunch, and attend breakout sessions conducted by UI faculty and staff members who will showcase creative uses of technology to enhance student learning. To end the day, Jovana Davidovicassociate professor of philosophy at the University of Iowa, will provide her perspective on the content discussed during the day.

 

This year's event is hosted and organized in a partnership with the Office of Teaching, Learning & Technology, and UI Libraries.
