Web Scraping with Python

ITS-Research Services and Iowa Informatics Initiative (UI3) are hosting an Web Scraping with Python workshop on October 16, 2018 from 1 Pm - 3 Pm. 

This introductory workshop will focus on web scraping using Python. You will be able to learn

  • How to understand HTML code of a web page
  • How to retrieve and parse the HTML code to extract necessary information using commonly used Python libraries

The course will walk you through a variety of real examples step by step in a highly interactive data analysis environment of Jupyter Notebook. Prior experience with Python is recommended, but not required. Participants will be expected to bring their own laptops.
