Instructional tools can improve student learning and engagement when they are used appropriately and in alignment with instructional objectives. However, understanding the application of student engagement instructional tools and aligning the use of these tools with course objectives isn’t always straightforward, especially with how complex some of these instructional tools are.

This workshop is aimed at helping instructors identify appropriate technologies/tools that improve student engagement and interaction in learning spaces. It also aims to give a basic understanding of what these tools can do so that instructors can focus on why these tools best fit their course.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa–sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Office of Teaching, Learning & Technology in advance at 319-335-6048 or teaching@uiowa.edu.
