Notice of Change in Service
Beginning July 1, 2018, Microsoft will no longer support Unified Messaging for traditional telephones.
Users not affected by this change of service include:
- Healthcare employees receiving telephone services provided by HCIS Telecommunication
- Individuals with UI Healthcare email accounts
- Individuals who dial (33)5-1000 to access their traditional voice mail
- Skype for Business Enterprise Voice users indicated by a client dial-pad:
What is Unified Messaging?
Unified Messaging is a service that puts all email and voice messages into one mailbox accessible to the user from multiple devices. Find more information about ITS Unified Messaging.
How does this affect you?
In response to Microsoft's deadline, ITS Unified Communications staff will move all affected users, currently on Unified Messaging for traditional telephones, to Skype for Business Enterprise Voice by May 1, 2018.
Since the Unified Messaging service is included with Skype for Business Enterprise Voice, affected users will continue to use Unified Messaging, but their telephone service will migrate from the traditional telephone system to Skype for Business Enterprise Voice.
When will this change of service occur?
Users affected by this change of service will be contacted by the ITS Unified Communications staff over the next few months to begin their migration process.
