August 16, 2014 Data Center Infrastructure Work

On Saturday August 16, 2014 Between 3AM and 9AM, ITS will:

  • Upgrade the Datacenter Firewall, Config Changes - NOT COMPLETED AS PLANNED
    • Which data center – ITF
    • Expected impact on services – Non-disruptive, subject to testing
  • Storage Services will complete any remaining NetApp migrations.
    • Nature of the work: Move remaining departmental shared folders to new NetApp systems
    • Which data center: ITF, LC
    • Expected impact on services: Brief outage for each of ~100 departmental shared folders
  • Upgrade code on all End of Row switches and Top of Rack Nexus Switches in both Datacenters
    • Which data center: ITF, LC
    • Expected impact on services: This should be a non-impacting, In Service Software Upgrade
