Outlook Users:

As of October 31, 2017, Microsoft will no longer allow Outlook 2007 (or Outlook 2010, 2013, 2016 using RPC over HTTP) connections to the Office 365 email service.  If you want to continue to use Outlook, you will need to update your Outlook client by October 31 or you will no longer be able to connect to your Office 365 account using Outlook.     Microsoft requires a minimum of Outlook 2010 SP2, Outlook 2013 SP1 or Outlook 2016  (see  RPC-over-HTTP reaches end of support in Office 365).   We recommend that users upgrade to Office 2016 or switch to Outlook on the web.

Faculty & Staff can install the latest version of Microsoft Office for free (personal or home computers or devices).  See How to install Microsoft Office (ProPlus):    https://its.uiowa.edu/support/article/103142

Retirees will need to purchase a newer version of Outlook if you want to continue to connect to the Office 365 email service with the Outlook client.   University of Iowa ITS Help Desk staff will continue to provide support for browser-based email access only (https://office365.uiowa.edu).

Note:  If you do not update your Outlook client, you will only be able to access Office 365 via Outlook Web App (https://office365.uiowa.edu) after October 31, 2017.
