Conversation Window

Reopen my conversations when I sign in...

Will open any conversation windows running when you sign out or exit the application.

Show call controls when Skype for Business is in the background...

Displays the call window in the foreground of your computer when Skype for Business is in the background.


Application Window

Minimize to the notification area instead of the task bar...

Will place a small icon in the system tray rather than show the application as running with an icon on the Task Bar.

My Account

Automatically start the app when I log on to Windows...

Logs your computer into the application whenever you log onto the machine. 

Start the app in the foreground...

Brings the app to the foreground of your desktop when it opens.


Exchange and Outlook Integration

Update my presence based on my calendar information...

If Out of Office is turned on in Outlook, then the app will display that message as your personal note when this setting is enabled.

Show meeting subject and location to contacts in my Workgroup privacy relationship...

Provides privacy settings for anyone added to the Workgroup relationship list enabling them to see meeting subject and location data for Outlook calendar information.

Show my Out of Office info to contacts in my Friends and Family, Workgroup, and Colleagues privacy relationships...

Provides privacy settings for anyone added to the Friends and Family, Workgroup, and Colleagues relationship lists enabling them to see your Outlook Out of Office messages.

Save IM conversation in my email Conversation History folder...

Enabled the user to find closed IM conversations in Outlook's Conversation History folder.

Save call logs in my email Conversation History folder...

Enables the user to find a log of calls in Outlook's Conversation History.


Show Pictures

Show pictures of contacts...

Displays photographs associated with contacts whenever they are included in a contact card.

Includes options to display contact name and picture or contact name only.

Includes options to sort by name or by availability.

Includes options to display the contact name (instead of email address), contact status, show contacts with away, offline and unknown presences in a separate group, favorites group.

People will still see your picture on the contact card and outside of Skype for Business.

Show my picture...

People will see your picture. If you change it, they might not see the new one right away.

Show a picture from a website...

Enter a web address and check the connection. 

My Phone Numbers

Work Phone, Mobile Phone, Home Phone, or Other Phone...

Add a new number to the appropriate section and tick the checkbox to Include in my contact card.
Work numbers are set within HRIS.uiowa.edu.


Phone Accessibility

Turn on TTY Mode...

Use text to communicate over the phone line.

General Alerts

Tell me when someone adds me to his or her contact list...

Will provide you with a notice when someone adds you to their contact list.

Where should alerts appear...

Choose which monitor alerts are displayed on as well as which corner of the screen they are position at. 


When My Status Is Do Not Disturb

Don't show alerts, Show only conversation alerts from people in my Workgroup privacy relationship, and Show all alerts but only conversation alerts from people in my Workgroup privacy relationship...

Choose how you would like to be notified for conversation alerts when your status is set to Do Not Disturb.


Contacts Not Using Skype for Business

Block all invites and communications, allow invites but block all other communications, allow anyone to contact me...

Choose how you would like to be notified for conversation alerts from members outside of Skype for Business.

Allow invites from domains my admin hasn't verified...

Check this box to hear from people in your contact list that are outside of our domain.

IM

Check spelling as I type...

Choose whether or not to have the client spell check your message as you type.

Hide pictures in IM...

Choose whether or not to have the client hide user profile pictures within a chat window.

When copying IMs...

Choose whether to copy the time and user's name along with the message or just copy the message only.

Show emoticons in messages...

Choose whether to show emoticons in a message as well as display their animations.

Enable tabbed conversations...

Choose whether to group all chat conversations into a single window and whether to display tabs with one line only.

Change font...

Choose the style, color, and size for how you would like outgoing and incoming message text to appear.

Ringtones

Calls to...

Choose from the provided list which ringtone is associated with each call type (My work number, My team, People I manage calls for, and My Response Group calls, etc.)


Sounds

Play sounds (ringtones for incoming calls and IM alerts)...

Choose whether to play or mute sounds for incoming calls and IM alerts, or keep sounds to a minimum when my status is Busy or Do Not Disturb.

Audio Device

Select the device you want to use for audio calls...

Choose your audio source from the devices available in the drop menu and customize their volume setting.

Check call quality...

Make a test call to hear how you sound.


Secondary Ringer

Also ring...

Choose, if you have more than one audio device, to allow both to ring at once when you are receiving a call.

Unmute when my phone rings...

Choose to automatically unmute your speakers when you receive a Skype for Business call.


Stereo Audio Playback

Allow stereo audio playback when available...

Choose to make sure that the best audio quality is available during a meeting.

Video Device

Select the camera you want to use for video calls...

Choose your camera from the available devices within the drop menu.

Camera settings...

Choose from the selection of advanced settings like color balance, contrast, brightness, and black-and-white mode and adjust to your preferences.


Video Settings

Crop and center my video in meetings...

Choose whether or not adjust how your video is displayed to others while in an online meeting.

Call Forwarding

Turn off call forwarding...

Choose so that calls will ring you at work and not be forwarded.

Forward my calls to...

Choose so that calls are forwarded immediately to [Voice Mail, a New Number/Contact, or a Delegate] and not ring your work number.

Simultaneously ring...

Choose so that calls ring you at work and also ring [New Number, a Delegate, or a Team-Call group].
