As part of a continuing effort to make the digital workspace of university students, faculty, and staff more modern and user-friendly, we are pleased to announce new OneDrive features for university-owned machines.

During the fall of 2021, Known Folder Moves will be added to university-owned machines.

Your experience with this update will be different depending on the type of machine you use:

When you sign-in to your University-owned computer with your HawkID and password, the following feature will soon be available:  Known Folder Moves

With Known Folder Moves turned on, your Desktop, Documents, and Pictures folders will automatically be stored in OneDrive. Any time you put something on your Desktop, the file will sync to the Office 365 cloud. With Known Folder Moves turned on for your Windows machine, the first thing you may notice is new icons next to your files:

The green check means that content is automatically synced to OneDrive with no disruption to productivity. Behind the scenes, this feature moves content into OneDrive so it's always synced to the cloud, protected, and accessible from all your devices.
