These instructions explain how to download the Comodo certificate for accessing UI Wireless eduroam network. 

Note: These instructions are intended for Mac laptops that are already configured for UI Wireless access.  If you are configuring a laptop for UI Wireless Access for the first time, see our instructions for connecting to the UI Wireless eduroam network.  

Though most Apple laptops will have already obtained the AddTrust External CA Root certificate through Apple Software Updates, this article provides information on manually downloading and installing the root certificate on your Mac laptop.

Manually Download the Comodo Root Certificate 

To manually download the AddTrustExternalCARoot certificate:

  1. Visit the Comodo certificate download site here.
  2. Select the [Root] AddTrustExternalCARoot certificate download and save it to a location on your computer where you can find it, such as the desktop or downloads folder.

To install the AddTrust External CA Root certificate on a Macintosh computer

  1. After downloading the [Root]AddTrustExternalCA root certificate as instructed above, double-click the AddTrustExternalCARoot.crt file.
  2. On the Add Certificates window, select System from the Keychain drop-down list and click OK. The new certificate is now ready for use.   

No further configuration is necessary on your Mac.

Though most Windows laptops will have already obtained the AddTrustExternalCARoot certificate through Windows Updates, these instructions provide information on manually downloading and installing the root certificate on your Windows laptop.

Manually Download the Comodo Root Certificate 

To manually download the AddTrust External CA Root certificate:

Visit the Comodo certificate download site.

Select the [Root] AddTrustExternalCARoot certificate download and save it to a location on your computer where you can find it, such as the dekstop or downloads folder.

To install the AddTrustExternalCARoot certificate on a Windows computer

  1. Double-click the AddTrustExtneralRoot.crt file and click Open.
  2. On the Certificate window, click Install Certificate
  3. On the Certificate Import Wizard window, click Next to continue, verify that "Automatically select the certificate store..." is selected and click Next again.
  4. Click Finish on the final Certificate Import Wizard window and you should recieve a message that the import was successful.  Click OK on the message box and OK again on the certificate window to complete the import process.
