Description

ICON - Gradescope is providing an error when clicking "Post Grades to ICON" for linked-assignments. An error message states an assignment must first be linked, when already linked.

Until this issue is resolved, grades can be exported via the 'Download Grades' button on the 'Review Grades' page of the assignment, and then uploaded to Canvas' Gradebook:

  1. Export exam grades from Gradescope as a CSV file.
  2. Edit the CSV file to match the format for importing the exam grades to the Canvas Gradebook. *You can obtain a file with the correct formatting by exporting the Gradebook
  3. Import the grades into the Canvas Gradebook.

Gradescope developers are working on a fix.

Description

ITS will be updating the central FileMaker servers to version 20.3. The central FileMaker servers will be unavailable during the update.

FileMaker Server 20.3 has a minimum client version of FileMaker Pro 19.4.2.  If you are not running at least FileMaker Pro 19.4.2 you will not be able to connect to your FileMaker databases after this update. 

You can check your version of FileMaker Pro using the steps below:

  • Windows Users: Open FileMaker Pro, go to the Help menu, and select About FileMaker Pro.
  • macOS Users: Open FileMaker Pro, click on the FileMaker Pro menu, and choose About FileMaker Pro.
  • If you don't see the version number on the About screen, you may need to click the Info button.

If you need assistance updating your FileMaker Pro client, please contact your local IT support personnel.

The following printing services will be unavailable during the maintenance window:

-Printing in ITCs
-Web print for the ITCs
-Web interface for PaperCut
-Printing to charge printers
-Printing that requires the use of the PaperCut Client software

Printing to IOWAPRINT01/02/03/04 will not be affected unless the PaperCut client is required for your environment. Questions can be directed to ITS Enterprise Client Management at its-ecm@uiowa.edu.

Description

On Sunday, May 19, 2024 the shared SQL Server production systems IOWASQLHOST1, IOWASQLHOST2, and IOWASQLHOST3 will be upgraded from SQL Server 2014 to SQL Server 2019. The new SQL Server 2019 systems will have network connectivity restricted to ITS data centers and, on request, static IP addresses on wired campus building machines.  These SQL Server databases will no longer be open to campus wireless or VPN. 
Additionally, some clients may need to update their connection strings to use the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the database server (e.g. IOWASQLHOST1.iowa.uiowa.edu). For more information about this migration, please review SQL Server 2014 Shared Hosting Refresh FAQs or contact the SQL Server DBA team at ITS-SQL-Help@uiowa.edu.
