The world of technology is changing, and the world of instructional technologies and textbooks is changing with it. The traditional textbook experience has morphed into students reading from online e-books and engaging in activities within online learning environments. Having educational resources online provides easy accessibility to course materials, cuts cost of course materials, and promotes student engagement away from the classroom.

Here at ITS, we have been running pilots with select technologies, including multiple online textbooks and online learning management systems.  Our goal is to figure out which of these technologies most effectively engages students in learning. We have participated in pilots for two years, now, and will continue to explore.
