Our partner within Research Services will perform service maintenance. This will affect IDAS during the following windows:

  • Wednesday, May 20th, 2026 during 2 PM - 3 PM
    • Active sessions will continue to run.
    • There is a small chance that new sessions may not be able to launch during the maintenance window.
    • We recommend logging into IDAS and starting your session before the maintenance window.
  • Thursday, May 21st, 2026 during 8 AM - 12 PM (noon)
    • This will only affect classes that have the "classdata" folder on IDAS. For these classes, users will be unable to access IDAS.

ITS Research Services will be performing maintenance on a limited number of LSS systems on May 20th and May 21st. We will be adding additional resources to these systems to improve performance and enhance network redundancy. We recommend saving and closing all files stored on LSS before the maintenance occurs to prevent data loss or corruption.

Adding additional memory to LSS systems - We anticipate the this work taking around an 1-2 hours, and will notify share owners once the system is available again.

ITS-EI staff will be performing maintenance on a network switch located in the Chemistry Building. All devices and services connected through this switch will be temporarily impacted, including analog gateways and SIP phones that are registered to SBCs associated with the Chemistry Building switch. The outage is expected to last approximately 10 to 20 minutes while the network switch work is completed.

ITS will implement a daily sending limit for student email accounts on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. This first phase will focus on students without current employee roles and will be followed by another phase to include student employees. The final goal is expansion to all accounts which will include faculty and staff. The primary driver behind this change is to limit the spread of phishing attacks when an account is compromised. When a bad actor gains access to a university account, they typically move quickly to send large volumes of phishing emails to other members of our community. By capping
