CAFÉ: Course Accessibility For Everyone

Course Accessibility for Everyone (CAFÉ) will help you make your ICON course site accessible to all your students. In this session, led by eden jones, we will be focusing on how to improve some easy-to-fix potholes in site design, such as usage of headings, tables, color contrast, alternative text, and transcripts and captions so you can make sure any user can navigate and use your site with ease. By making these simple changes to your ICON site, you're making your course accessible for everyone!

eden jones (they/them/elle) is a Digital Innovation Consultant in the Office of Teaching, Learning, and Technology. They have a PhD in colonial Spanish American literature and focus on trainings for course accessibility, technology tools, and student engagement.

This session is offered as part of the University of Iowa's second annual 100 Days of Accessibility. The purpose of 100 Days is to build capacity for digital accessibility at Iowa through skills development, awareness, and practical experience.
