A Hands-On Introduction to PYTHIA

Dr. Kenneth Heitritter (University of Iowa)

PYTHIA is a widely used standalone program for the generation of high-energy physics events. Its focus is on collisions with center-of-mass energies greater than ~10GeV, with physics models spanning the initial few-body hard scattering processes to a complex multihadronic final state. In this talk, we will focus on setting up a working installation and getting a basic understanding of how to use PYTHIA hands-on.
