Getting Started with Copilot in Excel introduces University of Iowa faculty and staff to practical ways Microsoft 365 Copilot can support everyday spreadsheet work. Using a realistic Excel workbook, participants learn how to clean and standardize messy data, generate formulas and summaries, explain existing formulas in natural language, and analyze open-ended feedback using sentiment analysis. Participants who want to follow along in Excel during or after the session should have the elevated Microsoft 365 Copilot license, which may appear as M365 Copilot (Premium). This is the license that enables Copilot directly inside Excel; Teams Premium alone does not include Copilot in Excel. A University-issued device and basic familiarity with Excel are recommended.
