Wondering why you cannot use a technology service like you usually do? It is possible the service is undergoing necessary maintenance, or that IT professionals are working to address an issue. You can visit the IT service alerts page for the most up-to-date information on the status of services.

The site is a great resource for checking the status of widely used UI technology services such as Office 365, ICON, and eduroam, as well as more specialized services. Information is updated 24/7 and can be accessed at its.uiowa.edu/alerts or by subscribing via email or RSS feed.

Each alert displays a summary of the service title and maintenance date that, when clicked, reveals more details. A legend outlines the meanings of symbols listed next to each alert: operational, service outage, degradation of service, planned maintenance, service announcement, and multiple issues.

You should make sure to check the IT service alerts page for updates so you know when a service is restored. This page hosts a list of ongoing issues as well as the status history of services over the last five days. To find older alerts or alerts further in the future than seven days, use the calendar view.

If you have any questions about a service alert, please call the ITS Help Desk at 319-384-4357.
