Description

The Hawk Alert system is used to provide emergency notification to the university’s population when there is confirmation of a threat to the health or safety of the campus community. These alerts can be delivered via text message, phone call, and email (based on the settings selected by the user).

The system automatically includes all current students, faculty, and staff located on campus, based on their presence in the Enterprise Directory.

If you want to be notified by mobile phone, you'll need to make sure your mobile number is included in the Enterprise Directory database. (https://safety.uiowa.edu/emergency-notifications)

 

An integrated component of the Hawk Alert system includes desktop notifications sent via Alertus. For more information, see this FAQ.
