The Data Center Hosting on-call process is intended to responsively accommodate emergency, unplanned datacenter hosting work requests by hosting partners.  


Note: If the work/visit can be planned and scheduled in advance, please contact ITS-EI-DC-Team@uiowa.edu and request to make future arrangements.  If possible, please schedule server work that involves DC Hosting staff to begin and complete during regular business hours (generally 8am – 4pm, Monday – Friday).  


Data Center Hosting On-Call Process: After 4pm or before 8am on weekdays and on weekends, on-call staff on the Data Center Hosting team are available for emergency work requests. To engage the on-call resource:

  1. Send an email to Datactr-Guide@iowa.uiowa.edu.  This single action sends an email to the ITS Data Centers team (ITS-EI-DC-Team@uiowa.edu) and immediately “pages” the DC Hosting on-call.
  • Include a brief description of your work request and contact information in your email.
  1. The DC Hosting on-call will contact the work requester (our goal is within 15 minutes) to begin coordination of what action(s) are needed.
  • If the work request involves travel to a datacenter, our goal is to arrive within two hours of initial contact.
