When using Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, or Mozilla Firefox on a Healthcare-managed computer running Windows 10, some Healthcare users are encountering the following authentication error when accessing websites and applications housed on the IOWA domain (e.g. EFR Portal Summary Reports and Dashboards, Capital Asset Management Reports, etc.):

“Reporting Services Error. The permissions granted to user ‘HEALTHCARE\xxxxxxxx’ are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied) Get Online Help. SQL Server Reporting Services"

As IOWA domain credentials are required to sign in to these resources, if a user is signed into a Windows 10 machine that is attached to the HEALTHCARE domain and the user is connecting to these sites via Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox, HEALTHCARE domain credentials are passed to these sites automatically and invalidate authentication.

To fix this error on a Healthcare-managed Windows 10 computer while using Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, or Mozilla Firefox, you will need to launch your browser as a different user and specify your IOWA domain credentials. 

Note: If your web browser is currently open, close all windows before proceeding. If you prefer or cannot close the browser you are using, you can use a different browser that is already closed instead.

  1. Locate the icon of your web browser (Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, or Mozilla Firefox) on your Windows taskbar.
  2. Shift + Right-click on the icon to bring up additional options in the application menu.
  3. Click on Run as different user.
  4. When prompted, enter your IOWA domain name and password (instead of your Healthcare domain account and password).
