ProGet is a Package management system and can be used to distribute packages.  Packages are easily distributed "buckets" that contain installers and install logic for applications and other components.

At the University of Iowa, ProGet is a DevOps related service primarily targeted to IT admins and developers.  It's purpose is to host packages and container images for distribution, which can then be deployed by configuration management systems.  Access is limited to on-campus or vpn connected systems.

The following feed types are supported:
Chocolatey, Conda, Debian, maven, Nuget, npm, PowerShell, Python, Romp, RPM, Ruby Gems, Visual Studio Extensions, Docker Containers, and Helm Charts.
