Embed a new image
- Place the cursor in an empty paragraph where you want to insert an image and then click the "Add media" button in the editing toolbar.
Note: The image should be inserted in an empty paragraph to avoid layout issues when the page is viewed. - Click the "Browse" button and select the image to upload. Then click the "Next" button.
- Provide the name of the file, alt text and title text and then click the "Save" button.
- Name - Displayed to content editors in the list of files
- Alt Text - Alternative text is used by screen readers, search engines, and when the image cannot be loaded. By adding alt text you improve accessibility and search engine optimization.
- Title Text - Title text is used in the tool tip when a user hovers their mouse over the image. Adding title text makes it easier to understand the context of an image and improves usability.
- Configure the display options of this instance of the image and then click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the dialog.
- Select the display type in the "Display as" field.
- Use the "Alignment" field to choose how you would like the media to be aligned with surrounding content.
- Optionally customize the alt and title text based on the context of the image.
- Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
Embed an image which has already been uploaded
- Place the cursor in an empty paragraph where you want to insert an image and then click the "Add media" button in the editing toolbar.
Note: The image should be inserted in an empty paragraph to avoid layout issues when the page is viewed. - Click the "Browse" button and then click the "Library" tab in the upper right corner. Select the image to embed and then click the "Submit" button.
- Configure the display options of this instance of the image and then click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the dialog.
- Select the display type in the "Display as" field.
- Use the "Alignment" field to choose how you would like the media to be aligned with surrounding content.
- Optionally customize the alt and title text based on the context of the image.
- Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
Change the size of an embedded image
Use a pre-set size
- Click on the image to re-size and then click on the "Add media" button in the editing toolbar.
Note: The "Add media" button should appear active after you have clicked on the image. - In the "Display as" drop-down, select the display you would like for this image and then click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the form.
- Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
Use a custom size
- Right-click on the image and select "Image properties".
- Adjust the values in the "Width" and "Height" fields as desired and then click the "ok" button.
Note: If the lock icon next to the "Width" and "Height" fields appears closed ( - Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
Change the alignment of an image
- Click on the image and then click on the "Add media" button in the editing toolbar.
Note: The "Add media" button should appear active after you have clicked on the image. - Select the desired alignment option in the "Alignment" field and then click the "Submit" button.
- Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
Note: Default spacing will be added around the image based on its alignment to prevent content from butting up against the image. To override the default spacing, see the section "Customizing the space around an image" below.
Customize the space around an image
- Right-click on the image and select "Image properties".
- In the "HSpace" field, enter the number of pixels of space to have to the left and right of the image.
- In the "VSpace" field, enter the number of pixels of space to have above and below the image.
- Click the "ok" button.
- Click the "Save" button at the bottom of the page.
Note: To use the default spacing based on the alignment setting of the image, the "HSpace" and "VSpace" fields should both be empty.
