Deployment information after purchase and deployment has been implemented and indicated in workflow. Please allow an hour for Iowa domain users and one calendar day for Health Care users for the software to show up in the deployment tools listed below.

PREREQUISITES

  • The user must be added to the corresponding Security Group for the software title being installed
    •  This step is done by the ITS-Licensing Department once license purchasing is complete
  • The user must be designated as a primary user on the device where the software is being installed (established in SCCM)
  • The user for whom the Product was licensed must be logged in to install the software
  • Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus must be installed prior to installing Project or Visio. Save all work and close all Microsoft Office applications (otherwise the installer will close them)

*NOTE* - If this installation was requested for a single device with multiple users, please disregard the following instructions and contact ECM at ITS-ECM-HELP@uiowa.edu for assistance in deploying the software to the machine.

INSTALLATION

  1. Click the Windows Start button, locate the “Microsoft Endpoint Manager” folder and open “Software Center” (or search for keyword “Software Center”)
  2. Click the Applications tab
  3.  Locate and click the appropriate title
  4. Click the Install button
  5. If a Microsoft Office Application is still running, the installation process may prompt you to close specific apps. *NOTE* - The installation window appears to be installing Microsoft Office. Don’t worry, this is just installing the title specified, nothing more.
  6. Once the installation has fully processed, the installer may display completion window, click Close
  7. The software should now be licensed and ready for use. A restart is recommended following installation, but not immediately required.

UNINSTALLATION

  2. Click the Applications tab
  3. Locate and click the appropriate title
  4. Click the Uninstall button
  5. A window should appear asking if you are ready to uninstall, click Uninstall
  6. If a Microsoft Office Application is still running, the installation process may prompt you to close specific apps. *NOTE* - The uninstallation window appears to be uninstalling Microsoft Office. Don’t worry, this is just uninstalling the title specified, nothing more.
  7. Once the uninstallation has fully processed, a window will appear indicating it is complete, click Close

If you are an Iowa domain user and you have issues, please contact your departmental IT support person(s) to work with ECM to resolve the issue. If you are a Health Care user, contact the HCIS Help Desk.
