SharePoint Online (SPO) is available to UI colleges, departments, workgroups, labs, organizations and project teams that desire cloud-based file storage and collaboration. SPO is the only Office 365 service that has full support for using AD groups for site permissions and offers multiple levels of file permissions (e.g. view-only, read, edit, full control). Simply, if you need granular permissions control and various levels of user access, SPO can accommodate those requirements.

SPO sites can be restricted to UI staff access-only, or set to allow external collaboration if you have collaborators outside the UI.

SPO sites are customizable in a web browser and include various ways to organize files/content via multiple libraries, nested library folders, lists and hub sites.
