Email notifications are sent in advance of your password expiring detailing exactly when it will expire and the minimum number of characters your password must be.
Following is an example a password expiration email notification:
Subject: Your University HawkID Password is Expiring
Your HawkID: herky
You are receiving this message because your HawkID password is about to expire. Your HawkID password is necessary to access many online campus services, such as Office 365, Employee Self Service, MyUI, and ICON. Keeping your HawkID password secure is very important. To avoid an interruption in services, change your password before the expiration date listed above. More information is available on the HawkID website at http://hawkid.uiowa.edu.
After changing your HawkID password, be sure to provide (or update) your stored password hints. Then, if you ever forget your password, you can reset it directly from the website. We also recommend that you restart your computer after you change your password.
See our HawkID support page for more information.
