Microsoft Teams training courses are presented by the campus technical trainer, Alex Hammes, with the help of James Hirsch. To register for a training course, click on a link below or visit the Compliances & Qualifications website and search for the course. All of our training is offered using the New Teams client.

Courses:

  • Microsoft Teams: An Introduction
    • This introductory course will give you a high-level overview of how to utilize Microsoft Teams and the tools within to collaborate and communicate with a workgroup, a project team, or any assortment of people. Topics covered include creating a team, chat, audio/video calls, meetings, and more. This course is designed for first-time users of Teams and those who would like to ensure they are getting the most out of this organizational tool.   • Microsoft Teams: Structure and Manage Your Team (Best Practices)
    • This course is designed for anyone who creates a team or has been given the team owner role in an existing team. Team owners have access to settings and capabilities that members do not see. This training will discuss how best to create a team, choose settings based upon your needs, and manage the team throughout its existence. It is recommended that you have some familiarity with Microsoft Teams before taking this course. 
  • Microsoft Teams: Facilitate Effective Meetings (Tips and Tools)
    • This course is designed for users who would like to gain a better understanding about one of the key collaboration tools within Microsoft Teams — meetings. We will cover scheduling a meeting, as well as how to use the controls and features available during the meeting, such as breakout rooms. After the meeting is over, we will teach you how to access recordings, in-meeting chat, notes, and files. It is recommended that you have some familiarity with Microsoft Teams before taking this course. 
  • Microsoft Teams: Working with Files
    • This course will show you how to edit and share files in Teams chats, meetings, or channels. We will talk about best practices for Team file storage and organization as well as coauthoring files and how to access personal files view. We will discuss how Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive work together from a file storage perspective. It is recommended that you have some familiarity with Microsoft Teams before taking this course. 
  • Microsoft Teams: Customize with Apps
    • This course will show you how to utilize applications in a channel, meeting, or chat to extend the capabilities of your team. We will talk about using personal applications to help streamline and organize your work within Microsoft Teams. The apps covered in this course include OneNote, Forms, Tasks by Planner, and Viva Learning. It is recommended that you have some familiarity with Microsoft Teams before taking this course.
