The likely cause of the slow Apple download speeds affecting campus and VPN connections has been identified. We are actively working on a solution to resolve the issue. Updates will be shared as progress continues.

Download speeds from Apple are currently very slow (2MB/s or lower) on campus or through VPN services. This is lengthening the amount of time it takes for an Apple macOS/iOS device update/upgrade to take place. Other large downloads from Apple may be affected. Device Management services from Apple do not seem to be affected at this time. ITS staff are looking into the issue.
