Service Degradation – Sectigo Certificate Issuance Delays
We are currently experiencing delays in certificate issuance due to degraded performance at our certificate service provider (Sectigo).
What is the problem?
Certificate issuance requests are processing slower than normal because of an issue within Sectigo’s client and API infrastructure.
Who is affected?
Customers requesting new certificates, renewals, or reissues that rely on Sectigo services.
What services are impacted?
- Certificate issuance and related client portal/API operations
- Affected endpoints include Sectigo and partner client areas and APIs
Expected downtime?
This is not a complete outage, but delays are ongoing. Resolution timing is currently unknown.
Possible solutions or workarounds?
- Retry certificate requests after some time, if they do not complete successfully.
- To avoid duplicates, monitor the request status before resubmitting.
- Contact it-security@uiowa.edu if issuance is time-sensitive, or assistance is required
Sectigo’s backend team is actively investigating the issue. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
