Update

This problem has been fixed by macOS 14.6. This update is available through Software Update.

For UI-managed devices:

Computers running macOS Sonoma 14.5 do not properly create the local Keychain database when a user logs into the computer for the first time using their HawkID credentials. The user may see a message similar to "A keychain could not be found store "login"". Various applications that depend on the Keychain to store cryptographic information (Adobe, Microsoft, Safari) will encounter problems.

Shared computers in classrooms and common areas will be the devices most affected by this issue. Local accounts on the computer, created through Users and Groups in System Settings, are not affected.

Workaround: Log out and log back in. The Keychain will be properly created during the subsequent login.

This problem will be fixed in a future release of macOS Sonoma.
