LockDown Browser (Mac and iPad) Failing to Launch with ICON New Quizzes
There is a known issue relating to ICON New Quizzes that causes LockDown Browser for Mac and iPad to fail at startup.
Impact:
- LockDown Browser for iPad: Displays a blank screen after the begin button is pressed
- LockDown Browser for Mac: Displays error code -379 after the begin button is pressed
This issue does NOT affect LockDown Browser for Windows or Chromebook. And it does NOT affect ICON Classic Quizzes. Those platforms and quiz type may be used as a temporary workaround while ITS works with the vendor to resolve the

ITS will perform maintenance on most of the Oracle production databases. Each of the following databases will be down for approximately 15 minutes during the window:
cdtaprod, commprod, dentprod, hosphrp, hprod, imfoprod, itconnp, mauiprod, vaultprd, wiresprd, wrkflowp

During the maintenance window, Top Hat may be unavailable and visitors will see a maintenance page. Any educator who has made an assignment due during or shortly after the maintenance window should consider changing the due date/time so that students have adequate time to complete them.
[Closed] Planned Maintenance - Oracle Hosting and Administration
ITS will be performing maintenance in the Data Center (see alert: https://its.uiowa.edu/alert/11566) that will affect all Oracle production databases. During this window, network access to the databases will be disrupted, with each database experiencing an expected outage of approximately 5–10 minutes.
Any job running against a database at the time of the outage will likely fail and need to be rerun. To avoid interruptions, it is recommended to reschedule any special or time‑sensitive jobs outside of the 6:00–8:00 a.m. maintenance window.
[Closed] Planned Maintenance - Data Center Operations & Services
The Top of Rack (TOR) network switches in the Information Technology Facility (ITF) datacenter, OneIT Data Hall, will be upgraded between 6 and 8am.
The Data Center Hosting team has identified devices lacking network redundancy at the TOR level. Those device systems/service owners have been contacted in a separate email, including a meeting invitation (and expectation) to attend the Infrastructure Day bridge event on Saturday morning.
For devices with TOR or alternate networking redundancy at the device level, there will be no interruption of service.
