A critical hardware component is failing in a substantial number of the University’s wireless access points (APs). With the rate of failure increasing, Information Technology Services (ITS) is proactively replacing all affected units ahead of the fall semester.

This project will involve every campus building and is scheduled to take place from Monday, July 7 through Friday, August 20, with work occurring Monday through Saturday.

During the replacement process, users may experience a brief interruption in wireless service—typically lasting 10 to 15 minutes—in areas without overlapping access

Top Hat has scheduled maintenance on the first Sunday of every month, from 4:00 AM CT to 7:00 AM CT.

During the maintenance window, Top Hat will be unavailable and visitors to app.tophat.com will see a maintenance page.

Due to recent updates from Microsoft, the default Office 365 landing page has shifted its focus toward Copilot integration. While this enhancement aligns with Microsoft's broader AI strategy, it has also introduced confusion for many of our users who are accustomed to accessing Outlook and other core Office apps directly.

To address this, we will be redirecting http://office365.uiowa.edu to the Microsoft 365 Apps landing page - https://m365.cloud.microsoft/apps/.  This change will take place on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. Its objective is to streamline access to familiar tools like Outlook, Word

Network Engineering Services will be upgrading the campus wired infrastructure. During this upgrade wired and wireless connectivity will be down.

Linux software mirrors will be down for maintenance from 1:00pm - 2:30pm on June 30, 2025.

Pearson's Revel, Modified Mastering, and MyLab platforms will be unavailable during this maintenance. Updates can be found here.
