[Closed] Outage - Several services
There are problems accessing many IT systems across the campus this morning, especially from off campus locations. Response teams from HCIS and ITS are working to resolve these issues as soon as possible. There is not an estimated time to resolve at this point. We will send updates when issues are resolved. Thank you for your patience.
[Closed] Outage - Multiple IT Systems
We are currently experiencing a DNS issue that is affecting logins to many systems and sites. The uiowa.edu site is down. Support staff are investigating.
[Closed] Planned Maintenance - Multiple Services
Web Login services will be intermittently unavailable while ITS performs scheduled maintenance to migrate databases to new physical hardware.
During this time, systems that rely on the Identity Warehouse will be intermittently unavailable. This will include:
- Web Login (login.uiowa.edu and idp.uiowa.edu) and any webapps that are HawkID authenticated
- Account Center
- IAM Tools
- IDW Views
All applications that rely on Web Login services may be intermittently unavailable during this period.
A total outage of ~30 minutes is expected sometime during the maintenance window.
[Closed] Planned Maintenance - RedShelf - Maintenance
RedShelf will be performing scheduled maintenance on their eReader. During this maintenance window, users may experience brief interruptions in accessing the eReader. Banners will be in place in the eReader three days in advance, notifying users of the upcoming maintenance window. Status updates: https://status.redshelf.com/.
[Closed] Outage - Campus Data Network Connectivity, Mayflower Hall
Network Engineering Services is aware of a network outage affecting a portion of Mayflower dorm. A network engineer is enroute and we hope to have the issue resolved within the next 30 minutes.
[Closed] Planned Maintenance - Multiple Services
ICON Dashboard and Elements of Success Scheduled Maintenance
The ICON Dashboard (https://icon.uiowa.edu) and Elements of Success will experience a short interruption of access/use for approximately 5-10 minutes at 4:40pm Central on October 1, 2024.
This only impacts the ICON Dashboard, and users should still be able to get to Canvas by going to https://uiowa.instructure.com
[Closed] Service Degradation - MyUI
There are issues logging into MyUI. Users may encounter an HTTP Error 500 or other login related issues. ITS staff are investigating.
[Closed] Planned Maintenance - ICON
There will be a maintenance window of the ICON Dashboard on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 8 AM to 10 AM in order to replace the SAN Storage for the backend database.
We expect the service downtime to be up to 1 hour. Access to the ICON Dashboard may not be available during this maintenance window.
[Closed] Service Degradation - PowerUp
PowerUp is experiencing a partial degradation of service due to parts of the campus intranet that are undergoing upgrades. During this time, for some users, PowerUp is unable to power on computers remotely. Users can contact support staff for help in remotely powering on their computers. Support staff can also temporarily disable the power-saving modes to prevent disruption while this issue is ongoing.

Users are encountering an error when accessing external tools in ICON stating "This content is blocked. Please contact the site owner to fix the issue." IT support staff are investigating.
