Scholarly teaching is informed by evidence-based literature and the knowledge of others as part of a reflective practice. Join us for a faculty-led roundtable to discuss how to get started with scholarly teaching, how it might improve your teaching practice and professional portfolio, and how it enhances teaching and learning excellence on campus. Co-facilitated by the OTLT Center for Teaching’s Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Faculty Learning Community.

Apply to join our faculty communities.

The Center for Teaching, part of the Office of Teaching, Learning, and Technology, advocates for effective, evidence-based, reflective teaching and acts as a collaborative partner in sparking and shaping conversations about higher education. As experts in scholarship on teaching, facilitators, and experienced college instructors, the staff utilize research and theory to design and lead programs that center equity and excellence in teaching and learning through faculty, graduate student, and organizational development.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa–sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Office of Teaching, Learning, and Technology in advance at 319-335-6048 or teaching@uiowa.edu.
