Providing student accommodations is vital, important work. This training session will help you make sure your classes are meeting the standards of accessibility for students who need captioning. We will cover how live transcriptions differ from the automatic speech recognition generally available in online meeting platforms. Additionally, we will cover how to make arrangements for third party transcription services to access your online class sessions, how the classroom environment impacts captioning, and where to turn for further information.

The Office of Teaching, Learning & Technology offers individual, small group, and departmental training. We also offer training on a variety of instructional technology needs such as ICON, digital media solutions, lecture capture, technology consulting, instructional assessment, general assignment classrooms, and more.
