How are students using technology to learn, engage with course materials, and connect with their instructors and peers? These topics have been at the forefront of higher education in recent years.

Join the Academic Technology Advisory Council (ATAC) for the return of the Student Technology Panel from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Friday, March 25.

Eight students, ranging from first year to graduate in a variety of disciplines, will describe how they use technology to foster their own learning and opportunities they hope the university will pursue. Their insights will help the UI better understand the impact technology has on UI students and aid in the creation of a strategic plan for campus technologies.

Hear students’ responses to questions, such as:

• What has been the most successful use of technology in the classroom or a great experience you’ve had where technology helped you learn better?
• What could we do in ICON and other areas to provide you with feedback about how well you’re doing?
• How has technology been used for learning in your classes? What was successful? What wasn’t? How do you use technology to support your learning?
• On the flip side, do you find that technology ever hinders your learning? For example, do you find that using your personal laptop for an assignment can cause distractions?
