This issue has been resolved.

ITS Research Services has verified access has been restored for most systems. We are addressing a handful of individual issues and will continue to monitor into tomorrow before fully closing out the alert. Users may experience temporary slowness as automated processes that rely on network connections resume.

ITS EI and Cisco engineers have applied a fix and ITS Research Services is seeing connections and access restored to most of our systems. We are verifying access has been restored to all systems and we will continue to monitor as service is restored.

Cisco and ITS EI engineers have identified the possible cause for the networking issues impacting Research Services systems and are working on a solution to restore connectivity.

Network routing between multiple ITS Research Services including HPC, IDAS, LSS and Globus, is partially degraded after infrastructure Day this past Saturday 10/11.  Some services such as SMB mounting may be work on some nodes but interconnectivity between all of the systems may not be fully functioning.  ITS RS and ITS EI engineers are working on the issues and have opened support calls with Cisco.  Some other distributed IT groups, with gear in ITF or LC data centers, may also be experiencing issues.
