Update

This issue has been resolved.

Adjustments to configurations and rules have been applied and Research Services engineers will continue to monitor throughout the day. We hope to close this service alert by 5pm.

ITS Research Services continues to work and monitor the service degradation.  Issues related to Samba authentication architecture, on certain nodes, are causing unresolvable errors which eventually lock up the node from handling new authentication requests.  Work is being done to both remediate the error generation and to allow the system to prevent the activities which causes the node lock.  Most nodes on this list have been functioning 11/10 but interruptions for itf-rs-store24, itf-rs-store31 and lc-rs-store24 have been reported and remediated.

ITS Research Services continues to see intermittent service issues with the storage nodes listed below.  The issues have been isolated to ongoing authentication instability with Samba and Winbind and SSSD modules.  Research Services engineers continue to investigate and attempt fixes.

LSS node lc-rs-store21 added to issues list.  LSS node lc-rs-store21has been rebooted and is currently back in service.  This service alert will stay up until tomorrow morning while Research Services continues extra monitoring and remediation.

LSS nodes have returned to service. Research Services will leave this alert up and continue to monitor.  Performance may be slower as systems recover.

Some LSS nodes are having a service impact.  ITS Research Services engineers are aware of the issue and working on restoring service. Known nodes being impacted are; itf-rs-store31, itf-rs-store18, itf-rs-store27, lc-rs-store 24, lc-rs-store23, lc-rs-storage20, lc-rs-store21.
