Top Hat is implementing a bi-weekly scheduled maintenance window on Sundays through 2026. This new schedule allows Top Hat to make necessary updates in a timely manner to ensure the platform remains stable, secure, and performs optimally. 

Scheduled maintenance may occur every other Sunday from 2:00 am CT to 7:00 am CT. This window was chosen to minimize impact on our users by utilizing a period of historically low platform activity.

Educators and students will see a message and reminders in Top Hat notifying them in advance of planned downtime. A small banner will also appear on the app.tophat.com website.

During the maintenance window, Top Hat may be unavailable and visitors will see a maintenance page.

Any educator who has made an assignment due during or shortly after the maintenance window should consider changing the due date/time so that students have adequate time to complete them.
