The ITS Enterprise Infrastructure team is undertaking an effort to reclaim wired network ports that have shown no activity for 400 days or longer. This is being done to reduce unnecessary billing and hardware growth, and to improve long-term planning for network services.

The unused ports will be remotely disconnected on Monday, July 27th. Afterward, the Physical Infrastructure team will visit each impacted building to first disconnect the ports and then consolidate on the switch. 

If a port is incorrectly disconnected, units can request to reconnect a disconnected port through Wednesday, September 30th by responding to the initial Halo ticket.

Please see the schedule below for when the physical disconnect and consolidation will take place. Dates will be provided approximately three weeks prior. There will be a brief, off-hours outage for the consolidation and a maintenance alert will be sent for each building in advance.
