MatLab software is available for students, faculty, and staff for use in teaching and academic research on personal computers and university-owned machines. There are multiple ways to obtain MatLab. Choose the method that works best for you:

For students, faculty, or staff using personal devices or UI-owned devices not managed by IT professionals, download MatLab on the MathWorks site. You'll be asked to log in with your HawkID and password to create a MathWorks account before you can start the installation. When entering your information, be sure to use your University of Iowa email address (ending it @uiowa.edu), rather than a personal email address.

Need help?

If you need MatLab on your University-managed device or if you would like to get it set up in a classroom, please contact your local IT professional or the ITS Help Desk.

IT professionals may install a concurrent-licensed version via Microsoft MECM or JAMF. For University devices that are unable to utilize one of these methods, please work with your local IT professional who will work with ECM for alternatives.
