If you need VPN access outside the U.S., it is blocked by default. You must obtain a Security exception prior to travel by emailing it-security@uiowa.edu for a request form. After approval, you can connect from abroad. For step‑by‑step instructions, see International VPN Access.

The Cisco AnyConnect client can be used on personal and university-managed devices. See this Cisco support article for instructions on how to use this service.

The GlobalProtect Always On VPN is not intended for use outside the United States. To request access to the GlobalProtect Always On VPN contact IT-Security@uiowa.edu
